Amber Harvie

Director: Amber Harvie (B.A.T.D Full Member & Ottawa area secretary / ARAD / RAD RTS)

 

An accomplished dancer and choreographer who returned to Ottawa in 2008. Amber has danced and taught in various parts of the world including New York, Toronto, Hong Kong, Moscow, and various parts of Europe.   

 

Among her credits are a Broadway-based production of '42nd Street' in Moscow, 'Tribute to David Merrick' in NYC, Silverseas Cruiselines with Jean Ann Ryan Productions,  'Time Steps: the musical' (NYC), performances with the Ottawa Ballet and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens,  "Unity" with Cyndi Lauper, Fashion Cares, as well as various other film and television credits, benefits and live industrials. In 2006 Amber was a back-up dancer for Asian pop star Sally Yeh in Hong Kong and Malaysia.  

 

Amber has been a faculty member at Sheridan College's Musical Theatre program, Toronto's well renowned studio DanceTeq at The National Ballet of Canada,  at the American Theatre Dance Workshop in New York.   She spent 12 summers teaching at Brant Lake Dance Center in upstate New York.

With her training here at Cumbrae she received her B.A.T.D. membership certification in ballet, jazz and tap, as well as her RAD Advanced ballet with distinction.  Amber has successfully completed the Royal Academy of Dance CBTS (Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies).  She has studied at The RAD headquarters in London, England, and attends multiple CPD courses annually in Ottawa, Toronto, and more recently virtually.  She is also the Ottawa & Eastern Ontario region's secretary for the B.A.T.D. (British Association of Teachers of Dancing).

 

Amber teaches ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, choreography, and theatre dance at the studio this year.
