Gabrielle Lowe

Gabrielle Lowe (ARAD/ BFA in Dance) cultivated her passion for dance at the Cumbrae School of Dancing in Ottawa, where she trained in various styles such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop, among others at the young age of 5. Her knowledge and appreciation of many dance forms have presented her with a wide range of opportunities, such as receiving her BFA from Metropolitan University's Performance Dance Program, where she was the recipient of the 2021 Kenny Pearl Award. She additionally holds her Advanced 2 RAD certificate, has performed in a piece by Alysa Pires for Dance Ontario, worked alongside Justine Chambers for The Vancouver Art Gallery, and was featured in a Vevo music video directed by Emmy Award winner Guillermo del Toro (Shape of Water).

To further her knowledge in dance, Gabrielle has worked with many local Toronto choreographers and performed pieces choreographed by Kenny Pearl, Apolonia Velasquez for GADFLY, Robert Glumbek and Roberto Campanella for Proarte Danza SIP, as well as Peggy Baker. She was also part of the Punks Dance Company by Christos Tsiantoulas in 2020.

Gabrielle was invited to attend the SDF Dance Tours in Paris and Barcelona as The Summer Dance Program Scholarship winner in 2014 and 2015.

 

Gabrielle was nominated each year from the age of 10 to attend the BATD North American Trixie Hardy Theatre Dance Scholarships. She placed in the top ten in Jazz numerous times and was the second place Tap trophy recipient in 2015 and 2016.

Furthermore, Gabrielle is featured in two current dance films, one produced by the Fall for Dance North Festival titled A Gathering by Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber (Batsheva Dance Company), and Together, Inside – Out by Hanna Kiel. She has also produced her own dance films that have been featured at the Toronto International Dance Film Festival and at The Dance Health Awareness Canada Conference in 2021.

Gabrielle is a recent graduate of The Interactive Media Design program at The Algonquin College in Ottawa and specializes in Web Design and Development.
