Dress Code

Ballet Classes

Combination Classes
Primary Ballet: Pink RAD approved bodysuit, ballet pink tights, & soft pink leather ballet shoes. Skirts, if worn, must be RAD recommended length.
Grades 1-5: Navy blue RAD approved bodysuit, ballet pink tights, & full sole ballet shoes. These grades will also require a character skirt and character shoes, but they will not be used in class until November.
Grades 6-8: Black RAD approved bodysuit, ballet pink tights, 3/4 length chiffon skirt, white silk scarf, and pink ballet shoes. These grades will also require a character skirt and character shoes, though not until November. Students in Grade 7 & 8 may wear coloured leotard.
Vocational levels: Black RAD approved bodysuit, ballet pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Students in Adv. Foundation & above may wear coloured leotard. For examinations, ribbons must be sewn on shoes.
Pointe shoes are required for all vocational levels, and soft blocks are required for Intermediate and above.
Hair must be pulled back into a clean ballet bun (with hairnet & hair pins) for all ballet classes.
All of our infant and Pre Primary combination classes wear a pink bodysuit and ballet pink tights.
For ballet/jazz combination classes, only ballet slippers are required. Combination classes that include tap will need black patent tap shoes. Please note, tap shoes must have non-marking soles.

Tap Classes

Jazz & Contemporary Classes
Jazz and contemporary students are required to wear a black bodysuit and beige tights.
Beige jazz booties are required for the jazz classes and contemporary classes. Advanced Contemporary should wear ballet shoes to match their skin tone.
Hair must be pulled back in a bun for all classes, and no jewelry is to be worn.

Highland Classes
Students registered in highland classes wear black bodysuit and black tights as well as black leather highland shoes. Junior and beginner students may wear black ballet shoes.
Hair must be pulled back in a bun for all classes, and no jewelry is to be worn.
Students registered in tap classes wear black bodysuit and beige tights as well as patent or leather tap shoes (no marking soles!).
Hair must be pulled back in a bun for all classes, and no jewelry is to be worn.
Advanced students may wear their own dance attire.

Irish Classes
Irish students are required to wear a black bodysuit, black dance shorts, & whilte ghillie socks.
Senior students will need both soft Irish ghillies and Irish hard shoes. Poodle socks are recommended, but not mandatory for non-competitive dancers.
Junior to novice students may wear black leather ballet shoes.
Hair must be pulled back in a bun for all classes, and no jewelry is to be worn.

Theatre Classes
Theatre students may wear any fitted dance attire (no bare legs).
Beige jazz booties are to be worn as footwear, and hair must be pulled back into a bun.

Hip Hop Classes
Students registered in hip hop wear black dance pants and a black Cumbrae Hip Hop shirt, or black fitted tank. Black hip hop sneakers are to be worn, and no outdoor shoes may be worn in any studios.
Advanced students may wear their own attire.
Hair must be pulled back in a bun or ponytail for all classes, and no jewelry is to be worn.
